Meet The Team

Founder & Director
Finlay Thacker-McPherson
Finlay started The Next Frontier out of a desire to shift the conversation surrounding AI from one of pessimism to one of optimism, and to show the benefits that emerging technology can bring. As well as recently completing an undergraduate degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of Reading, Finlay has been a delegate at European summits on AI and the development of emerging technologies. Publishing various articles in a range of publications, he was previously Editor-in-Chief of The Spark Newspaper. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Conservative European Forum. He is due to begin an MSc in Public Policy in September.

Policy Advisor: Law & Investment
Safwan Raslan
Safwan specialises in analysing the intersection between investment, law, and emerging technologies. Safwan is an LLB Candidate at Queen Mary University of London, hence his profound legal insight and fascination with how capital and regulation are part and parcel of how AI innovation is fostered in this new era. He looks forward to continuing to share his passion for public policy and cultivating a governance framework that brings together the UK's foundation rule of law and an innovative, comprehensive investment approach.

Strategic Advisor: Urban Futures & Real Estate Innovation
Harry Purcell
Harry has recently completed an RICS-accredited BSc in Real Estate from the University of Reading's Henley Business School and brings a systems-thinking approach to urban challenges, focusing on climate resilience, technological integration, and forward-looking development strategies. He also has a strong interest in the development of sustainable cities and how emerging technologies can help to aid this.
